Mission Statement
“The mission of this organization is to address the underrepresentation of individuals of African descent in graduate education by increasing awareness of academic, professional, and financial resources, creating a support structure, and holding programs that foster an inclusive social atmosphere.”
Goals
Throughout the year we sponsor numerous events to facilitate inclusivity, collaboration, and mentorship between our members, alumni of the organization, and the campus at large. Our hope is to improve the experience of Black graduate students on campus, increase retention of these students, and aid in building stronger professional networks for them post-graduation. We also collaborate with faculty and administrators to improve recruitment efforts.
